Ok well I know a beater !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is way out on my budget, but as with anything you always want your dollar to stretch as far as possible. But my coworker and I were talking about me wanting a vintage car and He reminded me that the 240-260Z exists and that is what I should get. I am inclined to agree with him. Unfortunately they are hard to find in the slightly more beat daily driver area. I can find restored and basketcase. I just want to spend a little and find one in the middle

Ideally under 10k, but the budget will probably be lower.

The plus is that it’s an early one, but being a ‘75 it probably has a catalytic converter. Or more correctly, had one at one time.

Most of the ones under $5k I saw when was keeping my eyes out here in Oregon had rust. That one in Salem isn’t bad though.
How about one that does wheelies?

You NEED a Z. You want a 1972 with as little rust as possible. A 1973-1974 will work if you replace the carbs with pre-emissions variants. Take someone with you who has extensive knowledge of the breed and knows where rust likes to hide. I’d offer to go, but I’m in Atlanta. 1970-1971s are a little lighter, but had issues with exhaust fumes and water getting in through those nifty little hatch vents, and they didn’t have an illuminated vent panel. Not a big deal, but the illuminated ones are SO pretty at night!

I know all about the rust :(. Its a sad state of affairs. I kinda really want a ‘74 260Z because my Mom had one back in the day all hopped up. What illuminated vent panels?
